Overview
•Vitamin B6: 12.2 mg a day is above the 12 mg/day EU upper limit (EFSA 2023), though within the US limit of 100 mg/day. Taking more than this for months is linked to nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy: numbness, tingling or pain in hands and feet), which usually improves after stopping.
•Haemochromatosis or iron storage disorders: contains supplemental iron which can worsen iron overload
•Pre-existing hypercalcaemia or hypervitaminosis D: supplies supplemental calcium and colecalciferol
•Contains 25 mcg phytomenadione (vitamin K1), which antagonises warfarin; maintain consistent intake and do not alter dosage without INR checks.
•Stop and get advice if: peripheral numbness, burning, or tingling: indicates possible pyridoxine-induced peripheral neuropathy
•Stop and get advice if: signs of an allergic hypersensitivity reaction, such as swelling of the lips, face, or difficulty breathing
