Overview
•Selenium: 373 mcg a day is above the 255 mcg/day EU upper limit (EFSA 2023), though within the US limit of 400 mcg/day. Long-term intake above this limit can cause selenosis: hair and nail loss, skin rashes and fatigue.
•Vitamin B6: 50 mg a day is above the 12 mg/day EU upper limit (EFSA 2023), though within the US limit of 100 mg/day. Taking more than this for months is linked to nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy: numbness, tingling or pain in hands and feet), which usually improves after stopping.
•Wilson disease: contains copper gluconate which worsens copper accumulation
•Pre-existing severe renal failure: impaired excretion of magnesium and potassium
•Provides 50 mg vitamin B6 (pyridoxine HCl), which exceeds the EFSA guidance limit of 12 mg per day; avoid stacking with other B6 supplements.
•Stop and get advice if: numbness, tingling, or burning in hands or feet: signs of peripheral neuropathy from pyridoxine
