Overview
•Niacin: 48 mg a day is over the 35 mg/day upper limit (ods.od.nih.gov).
•Contraindicated in pregnancy or for women planning to conceive due to preformed vitamin A (800 µg acetate), which poses teratogenic risks at high cumulative doses.
•Contains 75 µg of vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7), which directly antagonises vitamin K anticoagulant therapy such as warfarin; do not use without medical supervision.
•Contains 14 mg of elemental iron, which can cause gastrointestinal upset or constipation and poses severe toxicity risks if accidentally ingested by young children.
•High-dose B-complex components may cause harmless bright yellow discoloration of urine due to riboflavin excretion, and mild nausea if taken without food.
•Mineral contents (iron, zinc, magnesium) can chelate and impair the absorption of certain prescription medications, requiring scheduled separation.
